Orlando-based Self Storage Associates Inc is developing a CubeSmart facility at 3211 San Pablo Road South in Jacksonville, FL. The 107,000-square-foot facility will cost an estimated $4 million to build, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.

Ziff Properties Inc. of Mount Pleasant, SC will redevelop the former Mountain Creek Shopping Center in Chattanooga, TN into a 718-unit self-storage facility. The project, at 816 Mountain Creek Road, is a partnership with Reliant Self Storage. The shopping center was anchored by a Food Lion grocery store, according to the Palmetto Business Daily.

Preferred Storage Plantation has proposed a three-story, 101,533-square-foot self-storage facility at 1021 W. Sunrise Boulevard in Plantation, FL. The company purchased the site in April for $1.2 million, according to the South Florida Business Journal.
Also in Plantation, Extra Space Storage has a site at 125 and 231 SW 125th Avenue under contract where it wants to build facility, the journal reported. The proposed facility would span 86,727 square feet. Another Extra Space location has been proposed for 7795 W. Sunrise Boulevard–that facility would span 101,346-square-feet.
Tina Deneke and Merchants Retail Partners are seeking permission to develop a 76,050-square-foot self-storage facility on Kiley Drive in Huntley, IL.
Developer Phillip Byron Calton seeks to build a storage facility at 7001 Creedmoor Road in Raleigh, NC. Calton seeks a zoning change that would allow his plan to go forward, according to the Raleigh Public Record.

Westy Self Storage has opened a 1,400-unit facility at 65 Commerce Way in Hackensack, NJ. The five-story facility spans 170,040 square feet and is the company’s 15th location.
